WORDS & SOUNDS

- Make your own sound collage

August 2-6, 5 days

Are you curious about sound collages and would like to create your own personal piece of artwork? Are you interested in spoken words, poetry, music and field recordings? Welcome to participate in the course WORDS & SOUNDS.

In WORDS & SOUNDS - Build your own sound collage, we focus on text/words and sound/music. Listen to the world in a completely new way of working artistically with words and sound surfaces. We make 'field recordings' (record nature and things etc. ) and use them to create soundscapes. We work with words, writing and poetry. And then we mix it all through software, with digital effects and tools. You will work with creative processor, sound design, writing techniques, composition, etc.

The course mixes group lessons with work on your own. Based on teaching and shared inspiration, we meet and develop, collaborate and follow each other's processes to create our personal universe of sounds and words. The teaching consists of concrete tools - software, techniques and inputs. No previous knowledge is required other than a curiosity about sound and words.

You need to bring your own computer and sound recorder / smartphone. We will be working on Ableton Live, which can be downloaded from ableton.com during a free trial period of 30 days.

Date: August 2-6 (5 days)

Costs:

1400 SEK including course fee, accommodation and food (breakfast, lunch and evening meal). If you do not wish to live at the school, you pay a course fee of 200 SEK.
